Arizona State University, in cooperation with Maricopa County, has been authorized by the Arizona State Legislature to form a stadium facilities district on the north side of its Tempe campus. Mr. Panetta will describe the details of that arrangement, the development goals of the district, and the larger aspirations of creating a comprehensive, sustainable EcoDistrict.

Patrick Panetta, AIA is an Associate Director in the University Real Estate Development Office at Arizona State University. He is involved in several real estate development activities at the university including property acquisition, master planning, pre-project programming and design, and cultivating public and private partnerships. He has been intimately involved in the development of the ASU Downtown Phoenix Campus.

Mr. Panetta is an Arizona-licensed architect and President-Elect of the American Institute of Architects Arizona component, with over 15 years of experience in architecture, planning, project management, and real estate development, specifically in the public sector. Prior to joining the University in 2003, Mr. Panetta served as a planner and design manager for the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC, and as the base architect for the United States Air Force at Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, AZ.

Mr. Panetta has served as a member of the Ahwatukee Foothills Village Planning Committee, is a member of the Valley Metro Light Rail Community Working Group, and is Chair of Phoenix ArchiPAC, the AIA’s first local political action committee.

Mr. Panetta holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Miami and an MBA from the University of Arizona.
